Hammers knocked back youngster bids

|

West Ham knocked back bids for Armstrong Okoflex in the January transfer window, according to a new report from The Athletic.

The outlet has written a profile on the young forward, and they claim that there was plenty of interest in signing him at the turn of the year.

There were said to be enquiries from clubs in the Championship, League One, and the Scottish Premiership, but the Irons chose to knock those offers back.

Nevertheless, Okoflex has struggled to work his way into David Moyes’ first-team this season.

The ex-Celtic youngster is a Republic of Ireland U21 international but, thus far, he has yet to play a single minute at senior level.

The 20-year-old has looked like a huge prospect for the U23s, though, and has played 18 times for the youth team, scoring 12 goals and laying on an assist.

Still, it appears that there may be plans afoot for Okoflex to get some minutes under his belt before the end of the season.
