Hammers latest team news

Antonio2Andy Carroll looks booked for a place on the bench with Michail Antonio continuing in the central striker role against Chelsea.

And it is likely that Adrian will retain his place in the side and that Winston Reid will return to the back line to partner Angelo Ogbonna at the heart of defence as Declan Rice takes his place on the bench.

David Moyes looks certain to call on all the experience at his disposal and in the absence of Cheik Kouyate it’s likely that Mark Noble will be involved with Marko Arnautovich, Arthur Masuaku and Pedro Obiang across the midfield.

Moyes will be praying for a result along with thousands of Hammers supporters and we see the likely line up as looking like this:

Adrian, Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Noble, Obiang, Arnautovic, Masuaku, Lanzini, Antonio

  1. I hope Sakho starts And Rice although if Rice still has flu or whatever then can understand his not being in the starting line up, no CF though when Sakho is fit won’t go down well with me we need to get a result so we probably need to score at least once COYI!!!

    • Me too but Rice had Flu could of have something to do with it.
Think Sahko & Antonio on counter attack would be great.
But looks like we are going back to 4-3-2-1 I would have stuck w 4-4-1-1 very adaptable to 5-4-1 & we looked better in it.
      Adrian
      Zab Rice (Reid) Og Cresswell
      Obiang Lanzini
      Antonio Masuaku
      Ayew
      Sakho

      • But getting 4-3-21 at least Adrian is starting & hope with our top scorers on bench hope Moyes won’t wait to late to use them if needed.

  2. Well for whatever reason, Moyes doesn’t seem to like Sakho. Presumably he still wants to leave and that’s the reason for it. Interesting to see if he starts against Arsenal in the cup.

    • Also think he gets pressure from the Board bc he gets £30k for starting & £15k off the bench was set this season. But his pace w Antonio’s would work well & he makes a diff a game he plays in.
Would say Moyes might not like Ayew he is our top scorer over all Comp’s w little time but looks best in #10 or second striker.
But accepting offers for Ayew Sakho & AC…
Be hard to replace 3 in Jan

  3. Oh my God .

I have just seen Captain Bloody awful on the team sheet . Moyes is as clueless as Bilic . Just what is needed against an athletic mobile midfield . An old tug boat huffing and puffing in the centre circle … WE ARE DOOMED
