Hammers laugh off the political games

|

sadiq-khan-afp-gettySadiq Khan’s outburst on spiralling London Stadium costs has been greeted with mild amusement by West Ham.

The Mayor of London’s demand for an investigation earlier today has been seen as an obvious move by a politician looking to increase his personal popularity.

One insider told ClaretandHugh: “It’s a cute move by him but in real terms entirely meaningless.

So he wants an investigation into the situation – well he would wouldn’t he because the other lot did the deal. Makes sense from his point of view.”

The fact is that the only West Ham come out of this deal blameless after the previous government had insisted that a stadium built for athletics would have an athletics legacy.

When that turned out not to be the case they found themselves with a stadium which granted to a football club where necessary alterations had to be made. That the costs grew was not West Ham’s issue. That responsibility belongs elsewhere.

Why Mr Khan wants an investigation is a mystery beyond apportioning blame on the previous Town Hall admistration.

Our source said: “It certainly doesn’t help in the here and now. It’s just politics and meaningless in the real scheme of things. The club has bigger issues to solve and can’t take this very seriously.”

Same as all this ‘awful violence’ at the stadium against Chelsea. Its a good job they were nowhere near those Besiktas & Napoli fans. Now that was proper fighting 🙂

Never before have i seen a football club haunted like West Ham are over the London Stadium. The Supporter’s groups whipped up by the corrupt media are out to destroy the club. With the help of the media away Supporters can now come to the ground, instigate trouble, which is the reported by the media as a West Ham problem, don’t get me wrong, a small minority off our supporters let us down, but when you have a Chelsea fan running at you across the no go zone then it will provoke trouble. Let’s build our own ground and leave the London Stadium to rot.
