Adam Armstrong will cost £20m this summer, according to a new report from Football League World.
The Blackburn striker has been heavily linked with a move to the Irons and it seems a deal could be affordable for the Hammers.
Armstrong has been in electric form for the Championship club and has scored 19 Championship goals in 32 games.
FLW claims that West Ham are keeping tabs on Armstrong, as are Newcastle, with whom he made 21 senior appearances before his exit.
Blackburn are unlikely to be winning promotion this season as they currently sit firmly in mid-table in the second-tier.
As a result, they are aware that there will be plenty of interest in the striker, with a £20m fee seemingly enough to lure him away from Ewood Park.
The report does claim that the Irons are also keeping tabs on at least three other options as they look to bring in new forwards this summer.
Mikey Antonio remains our only option as an out-and-out forward.
