Hammers linked with Brazilian midfielder

Italian football website Calcio Mercato claims that  West Ham is interested in the Brazilian defensive midfielder Matheus Jesus. Fiorentina, Schalke 04, and Watford are all said to tracking the  20-year-old.

Jesus signed a five-year contract with Portuguese club Estoril in June 2017 but is currently on loan to Brazilian club Santos until December 2018.  The report claims that Fiorentina has already tabled €3.5m bid for the player but that is unlikely to be enough to tempt his parent club to sell.
Jesus is also a member of Brazilan Under 20 squad and made one appearance for Brazil in 2016, replacing Henrique after 75 minutes in a friendly against England U20’s.
