West Ham are rumoured to be weighing up a cut price move for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier this summer.
The right-back Trippier has impressed for the relegated Clarets this season and appears unlikely to follow Sean Dyche’s side down to the Championship. The 24 year old is thought to have a £3.5m release clause should a Premier League club come in for him.
The former England under-21 star has been a shining light since moving to Turf Moor from Manchester City in 2012 and has been an ever-present in the Premier League force this season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed he will only allow Carl Jenkinson to leave on loan and not full time which could persuade West Ham look for a permanent right back solution.
Newcastle United, Southampton, Stoke City and Sunderland are reportedly keen for a move for Trippier.
Could be a good move from what I’ve seen Burnley try to break down the right a lot and Dyche will have schooled him in that ancient mystery of playing football…..remember that anyone?
I’ve read that Southampton are after him as a replacement for Clyne who’s destined for Man Utd – Trippier looked decent in the Burnley game at Upton Park – young, fit and athletic what’s not to like!
Let’s hurry up and get rid of you know who then Daves so that we can install a manager that this lad fancies coming to play for!
… And Hugh – Hurry up and post the news that the Dudley Dud has been given the ol’ Spanish!!!! 😉
Why are we tipping everyone off that we are interested in another player just so tomorrow the Spuds can say that they want him tomorrow,
Why did we not just contact him,his agent and Burnley see if he is interested then move on sign him or not,
Or is this our move to try and force Wenger into talking to us about Jenkinson ?
Yes he is cheaper then Jenkinson but are we looking for cheap or better ?
John will be happy though at least we will have one happy fan
Decent player for sure.He will be back in The Prem with someone next season,he is good enough.
