The Telegraph’s Chief Football Correspondent, Jason Burt claims West Ham are planning to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini when the transfer window opens next month.
The article say the Hammers believe they have been encouraged that Jose Mourinho might be willing to allow the Belgium international to leave.
Slaven Bilic has considered making a move for Fellaini in the past and the versatile 29-year-old could also be used in attack given the club’s ongoing problems scoring goals.
Fellaini started the season in Mourinho’s side but has not been in the line-up of late and came on last weekend to concede a penalty against his former club Everton from whom he was signed for £27million.
A significant stumbling block will be whether West Ham can cover Fellaini’s huge wages and they may hope to cut a deal with United who are carrying a big squad under Mourinho and may want to move some players on.
Centre mid, where we already have Kouyate, Noble, Obiang, Nordveldt, Lanzini, Payet and Fernandes. Not for me.
He would certainly improve our foul count. Not for me.
He was a good player at Everton. He displays some fight and we do not have anyone whatsoever who does that for West Ham…… maybe Reidy?
he is certainly a dirty bast*** but what else?
At least julian dicks was a great footballer too, and Billy Bonds wasn’t bad either.er/
Man u reject?? Their biggest reject is ( or should be ) moriniho and we don’t want him.
I think he could be useful to add some physicality to our midfield, doubt the rumours true though and hopefully if it is they can thrown in Martial and Rashford 😉
A nasty bit of work with the sharpest elbows in the Premiership, but could be the type of player that is required – and go on to be a legend in the mould of Julian Dicks, Stuart Pearce and Billy Bonds, not wholly admired for their footballing ablility but also for their toughness, attitude and ability to put fear into the opposition.
A bit of nastiness and physical presence could be just what West Ham need to buck up their disappointing Season!
