Hammers linked with Red Bull striker loan

South Korean striker Hwang Hee-Chan has been linked with a loan to West Ham according to German paper BILD.

The report suggests that the forward is set to move to the Premier League on loan from RB Leipzig. There has been speculation that West Ham could be interested following the sale of Sebastien Haller.

After a youth career in South Korea Hwang signed with Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg , in 2016, Hwang came off the bench and scored a brace in a Europa League match for Salzburg against Ligue 1 side Nice, contributing to his team’s first Europa win of the campaign.

During the 2019–20 season Hwang had a remarkable season scoring 16 goals and providing 22 assists in 40 appearances.

Last summer Hwang signed for RB Leipzig for £8.1m on a five-year contract and went on to score a goal and create an assist against Nürnberg in the first round of 2020–21 DFB-Pokal, when he made his debut.

  1. Doesn’t fit Moyes criteria of an agile tall target man.

  2. I would like to see this signing happening initial on loan, a very direct player like Arnie. At 24 has immense potential, a far better option than the Celtic striker. If we do sign him I believe it would be a real sign that we are thinking outside the box and I would be very happy to see him in a West Ham shirt. Links to players like Lingard and Williams from United hopefully are just that, they are average players who cannot make a man Utd team, we will never get better or challenge teams if we buy their bench players and sometimes they don’t even make their bench.
