Hammers linked with relegated winger

|

Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri has a €14m relegation release clause in his contract. That news has suggested that Shaqiri could be reunited with his old wing-mate Arnautovic at the London Stadium next season.

According to Calciomercato.com, Everton, West Ham and Crystal Palace all want to sign Shaqiri.

After Stoke’s draw witH West Ham Shaqiri told The Telegraph: “Everybody knows I’m a player who wants to play at the highest level, this is pretty normal. I have still got two years left on my contract with this club and first we have to see what happens here. I’m happy here at the moment and we will sit down after the season.”

The 26-year-old winger is said to have a contract worth £65,000 per week but a relegation clause of just £12.3m might prove to be a bargain of the summer. However, some have questioned whether Shaqiri is David Moyes type player and who is the West Ham manager come August may be just as important when it comes to a possible move for Shaqiri.

Shaqiri should come anywhere near this club. Not worth 12 pound 50p let alone 12.5mil. Lazy and generally only plays when he feels like it.

I’d get your heads very quickly around Moyes being offered a deal and so any acquisitions will be his choice. He was brought in to keep us up and he’s done that with two (both home) games to spare.

If he’s allowed to buy and shape a team, and not just work with what he’s inherited from a Bilic, I think we’ll be at least 5-8 places higher next year. Where the hell Hugill fits in beats me!

For that clause money it’s worth getting him especially if he plays like recently all next season and doesn’t go missing in games.

I don’t want him. He is a moaner and not a team player. Great shot, great technique, but there you have another one who doesn’t defend and loses his temper easily (he should have been sent off against Palace for a shameful sticking of his studs in the calf of a Palace player from behind). For me it is a definite no thank you.

Definitely Shaqiri and Butland, even Peter Crouch as a replacement for Carroll, a lot cheaper and fit for most of the season, also better at bring other players into the game than Carroll.

32 I hope the owners invest heavily in the players we need to improve sharply on this season. There has to be a cull of the current list with sentiment not being involved.I hate these seasons where we teeter above relegation for a majority of the year.Carroll and Hart for starters have to go and I personally don’t care where. Here’s to another period of anxiety waiting for the owners to spend.

We should be all over that deal for that money. He’d be a great signing.
