Hammers linked with relegated winger

Nathan-Redmond-599091Media reports in The Guardian today claim West Ham are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Norwich City’s England Under-21 international Nathan Redmond, who is set to leave Carrow Road this summer following relegation.

Redmond, who was a £3.2m signing from Birmingham City in 2013, has featured in all but three of Norwich’s top-flight fixtures this season and scored his sixth league goal of term during Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat of Watford which still failed to keep the Canaries up.

The 22-year-old, whose contract expires in 2017, is expected to depart, with West Ham, Stoke and Crystal Palace all said to be in pursuit of the winger, who could command a fee between £8m and £10m.

  1. Not a surprise. We already thought of him a couple of seasons ago. Now, is he worth 8 million ? probably not.
Another one who could be good is Mbokani. Underrated and underused at Norwich. If they had started him more often I bet they would have stayed up.

  2. I like Redmond,he is pretty exciting to watch.I was thinking the other day he could be a useful signing.

  3. I hope we’ve moved on from bargain basement buys? Having said that I might take Townsend off Newcastle’s hands?

  4. Apparently Townsend has an £8m release clause following relegation, Redmond for me falls into the category of eye catching without a lot of end product, definitely a threat to opposing defences but usually blazes over / wide or misses his pass.

  5. Could say that about a fair few wingers to my mind WHfan32.The buggers have always been fairly hit & miss.I like the kid Redmond meself.
