Hammers linked with swoop for Hull defender

RR Very Low (1)The Sun claim that the Hammers are planning a £9million bid for Hull defender Harry Maguire before the transfer window ends.

However the article has got many scratching their head with the question why? The 23 year old lad originally from Sheffield’s youth system plays as a centre back for the Hull Tigers so it seems a bizarre target considering we recently paid £8m for Jose Fonte and have Winston Reid and James Collins at our disposal.  Ogbonna will return next season  from his knee operation and Bilic has the option of further blooding Reece Burke and Reece Oxford in the future.

There is no doubt that Harry has talent and has won many man of the match awards for Hull but the timing of this rumour seems strange when cover for a right back would appear to be of  much greater need.

I think we take this story written by Sun journalist Andrew Dillion with a large pinch of salt  and the lowest rumour rating unless we hear any further evidence to contrary.

  1. Have watched him on TV lately, a man mountain. He didn’t seen to play like a CB, he was everywhere fighting for the ball and had a few shots. Play him as a very aggressive centre midfield ?

  2. Ginge would beat him in a sprint. Huge, cumbersome are polite words for him.
