Hammers look for Reid contract response

ReidHopes are high within the club that Winston Reid will sign his vastly improved deal following the squad’s return from New Zealand.

And ClaretandHugh understands the board have made it clear the offer – which is believed to be £60k a week – should be signed before the start of the new campaign.

It’s a policy the club have had in place for some time as they look for commitment from players who might otherwise wait to see if other offers are made during the remaining 12 months of their deals.

The offer made to Winstonr could only be matched by a top five club and in many respects represents a re-run of the Mohamed Diame situation transfer saga of 2013 when many thought he was on his way but no offers were received.

Reid, is currently considering the deal on the table and is expected to give the club his response soon after the Kiwi tour.

A ClaretandHugh source revealed: “We are very optimistic – he has received a brilliant offer and we believe and hope he will sign it.”
