Hammers look to Arsenal for loan

JackSamuel Lovett in the Independent has suggested West Ham are considering a season-long loan move for West Ham boy hood fan Jack Wilshere.

He claims the Hammers have made contact with Arsenal over the 25-year-old but have yet to submit a formal bid as they wait on the Sporting Lisbon player and an unlikely U-turn. Slaven Bilic is keen to sign a quality central midfielder for the season ahead but Carvalho’s £40m price-tag has been seen as a step too far between the Hammers and the Portuguese club.

In light of such developments, Lovett says the Hammers have turned their attention to Wilshere and could throw the Arsenal midfielder a lifeline after numerous seasons of setbacks. Arsenal are happy to release the Englishman on loan again and don’t see his contract as a priority. Wilshere has one year left on his current deal and will be ready to leave the Emirates as a free agent next summer.

The midfielder spent last season on-loan at Bournemouth and has only returned to fitness this month after breaking his leg in April of this year.

New reports suggest Harry Redknapp is ready to offer Jack a lifeline at Birmingham,

  1. 1st option: £30 million +
    2nd option: a loan

can this really be our plan b? oh wait slaven doesn’t believe in plan b’s does he. or any kind of plan.

  2. Could be a good signing,he might pull his finger out playing for his own team he supports.Glass half full & all that 😁
Dont you ever get tired of moaning master, this place is doing my nut in.Cant take it no more.

  3. Why not Elneny Arsenal had Bid accepted for £10m from Leicester but wants to stay in London and he is actually fit and a DCM. Same age 25 and looks good when he plays.
Offer £20m for him and Perez who would.be great partner for Chicarito and he wants move. Good well rounded CF would link up well w Chic and then can sell Sahko for £10m

    • Wouldn’t disagree with those JRS. Nothing will come of this Wilshere loan they want to sell the player, or in other reports they actually want him to sign a new contract so they can make more in loan fees for him. He should refuse but you never know. If we could loan him purely as a punt then ok but don’t expect to see any more of him than AC on the first team sheet. I hope that the owners cave in at the last minute and sign Carvalho he is the only player we really need.

  4. This is how low the club has got ….30m bid for players not accepted…. So again last minute loans……same old same old!

  5. Gone from trying to sign a World Cup winner to maybe getting a player who can’t get in the Bournemouth team – shocking

  6. Is it over yet? Is it safe to return? Or is it still a Dignitas forum 😆😆

  7. Is anyone else getting this sickening feeling that we are going to be in the position that millions have gone into the Club and absolutely nothing is coming out ? We have Sakho wanting away and have we got someone lined up to cover ? The sad answer is that the Board are living in a dream world, Slaven is right we don’ need anyone, we are a cross between Leicester and Manchester United, we can come back and win the title, it will be a breeze. Shame is we are in a reality that looks like relegation is coming. Can anyone help ? Anyone got any White Knights up their sleeve? Roy of the Hammers perhaps ?

  8. I like him, but far too injury prone for my liking.
Heard a rumour he was going to Real Betis, so could be another deal we ‘couldn’t get over the line’.

  9. Unfortunately we are in this sickening position where the board will no longer back the manager whos job is hanging by a thread. Therefore they are in the perfect position to not spend any more money even though they have culled last seasons squad by about 15 players.Promises of a world class midfielder turn to dust and they will have the begging bowl out till 11pm looking for any scraps that are left over on loan deals. Its Deja vu again as they continue to con us.Everyone else appears to be concluding deals with the kind of professionalism you would expect whilst we stumble around from pillar to post.Carvalho deal should have been done and dusted by now but once again they have shown they are totally out of their depth.

  10. we cannot even compete with Birmingham ffs

  11. Oops thought I had stumbled into another blog for a minute

  12. Arsenal offer £92 mill for Lamar ? Fact! Sully you tight punter, 40 mill for carvalho wtf are you drinking ? Absinth ?😎

  13. Surely if there is any ambition,Brains and balls left at the club the scenario would be.Just sell Sakho to Rennes, and use the money to top up Carvalho bid and get that done and buy a striker who wants to play for the club. F.F.S.Waris ? or anybody with only 5 hours left.If not i can see the S… really hitting the fan with Quina going out on loan making it 17 departures so far.Is Sully planning on playing for us as its about the only scenario left at the moment if we get any injuries.?

  14. Wilshere, Won’tshere? Blah, blah, blah.

Just stump up for the full Carvalue, please.

We need a Portuguese man of war, not the walking wounded.

  15. Sad reading to be linked with a player like Wilshere. Not good enough proof in the pudding was that Bournmouth had no interest in a permanent deal. What a joke of a club we are becoming under Bilic.
