Hammers look to have selection problems

West Ham boss David Moyes is facing one or two problems as he decides on his starting elecen for the match at Bournemouth on Saturday.

The manager has revealed that he will be with new signing Edson Alvaraz who has not trained  since the CONCACAF Gold Cup [in July].

It remains unclear whether Flynn Downes will be available in midfield and all eyes will be focused on the team sheet to see whether Lucas Paqueta is involved following a bid from Manchester City.

The club has revealed that the offer is not sufficient for them to part with the player so should he be absent some will be fearing the worst and that is an unhappy bunny.

With James Ward-Prowse unable to play given he hasn’t completed his switch to the club the midfield area could present problems for the manager.

It’s a tricky one but at worst the team could line up like this: Fabianski, Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson; Soucek, Cornet. Coventry or Downes, Benrahma, Bowen, Antonio

To be honest the biggest surprise for me was that anybody ever thought Alvarez would be available for selection for Saturday. He’ll need at least 3 weeks of indoctrination with the intricacies of dinosaur football.

    That is horrific!!

  • Chunk says:

    For me it would be
    Coufal. Zouma. Aguerd. Emerson
    Fornals. Soucek. Paqueta.
    Bowen. Antonio. Benrahma.

Welcome to the Moyes Museum of Football, Edson Alvarez!

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

Fornals was an effective ball of energy in the middle of the park during pre-season before Soucek and Paqueta returned.

When we were looking good and quick and scoring lots of goals… go figure.

Also, perhaps an opportunity to play 2 upfront. Oh wait…

  • Limey says:

I think we can all agree, the team is pretty certain to look like this:
    Coufal, Johnson, Kehrer, Zouma, Ogbonna, Aguerd, Emerson;
    Soucek, Fornals, Bowen
