Hammers looking at top eight – CandH prediction
Hughie Southon on what we may see on Sunday
West Ham will be keeping a keen eye on the Manchester derby tomorrow afternoon once our game against Everton concludes about 20 minutes after United v City starts and will be hoping for a top eight place by the end of the afternoon.
United are a point in front of us in eighth place and always assuming we have beaten Everton and City have seen them off they we will hit that top eight again.
It could of course get even better if Fulham manage to beat Brighton when – again assuming we triumph over the Toffees will can slip into seventh spot.
Top eight hopes but big worries too
The big worry of course – as pointed out by C and H’s James Batterbee is that we know exactly how

Everton a ‘must win’ for the Hammers on Sunday
Moyes will set the team up and the players he will use.
If we do so I think Sean Dyche might too don’t you.
Let’s be frank, do any of us ever believe for example that the thought of playing two up ever crosses his mind, not that either Mikey or Danny Ings are up to much right now, whilst Divin Mubama doesn’t even appear to be more than an afterthought.
So how will this work out?
I can see Everton giving us a tough examination and whilst I’m looking at 2-0 in my mind’s eye, a draw won’t surprise me.
A defeat – at this stage is unimaginable or is it?
As the saying goes, Hugh, when you ASSUME it makes an ASS out of U and ME. And that’s kind of what happened last weekend against Villa as you tipped us to win 2-1. Oops! I would like to think we can beat Everton but they have improved just a little bit lately while we seem to have dipped in form. I’m just going to cross my fingers and HOPE we win. Otherwise we will be on the ‘Moyes Out’ merry-go-round all over again. It doesn’t bear thinking about. Come On You Irons!
