Hammers looking for Flamengo double swoop

Flamengo left winger Bruno Henrique is reported to be on the Hammers wanted list this January along with team mate Gabriel Barbosa.

And according to 90 Minutes the club sent scouts to watch both in the World Club Final against  Liverpool last night with the merseysiders running out 1-0 winners.

The pair could cost a combined total of approaching £25 million should the club move decide to move in during the January window.

According to www.transfermarkt.com he is valued at close to £6 million although quite what’s in the manager’s thinking is difficult to work out.

In Felipe Anderson he has his natural left wing choice and were he to continue playing him behind a front one or two then Nathan Holland is available off the bench to work the wing role.

West Ham believe Henrique will be able to make an immediate impact on their first-team.

However, the news – regardless of early indications from club insiders suggesting there there would be little action in the window – it seems the club is looking to spend in January.

This of course following the slump over recent games which has seen them looking at goalkeepers, midfielders and strikers although a right back is also clearly required with Fredericks looking uncertain and Zaba now at the end of his PL career.

A second left back might also be a good idea!

  1. What is the point is signing this kind of winger when we already have someone stylistically similar in Diangana? I doubt if there is a huge difference in quality or final product and Diangana has the advantage of premier league experience.Just recall him.
Left back and midfield are where we need to strengthen

  2. You say were really interested in these players but by tomorrow you will be spouting theres no money in the pot. Is it to get fans hopes up and then the old saying we tried but they didnt want a pack of peanuts.

  3. A SECOND left-back?

I didn’t realise we have ONE, who can actually defend.

Pellegrini will only sign players he can con into thinking they are joining a BIG club.

Then, they very quickly adopt ManU Syndrome, where they believe the game is won, just by them stepping onto the pitch.

If any of these space-fillers are remotely true, then the reins should be put on Pellegrini and/or his compadre importing any further players from abroad. One way or the other, their tenure is hopefully extremely limited, so what happens to all these no-hopers when they’ve gone!?

  4. More January transfer news . It’s getting rediculous . We are not a rich club as the last 50yrs proves . We are trying to build , we moved home to do it and no amount of transfers will change anything . What the heck is going on ? . . First we have no money , spend money ( 150million over the last three seasons ) and still no further forward . We have a manager who doesn’t understand our values or the things that are important to us . I hate the January transfer window ,, as did so many of our previous managers . But we have a system where failure can be fixed , or not. , by a few quick patches . Nothing makes sense in truth . The answer is not in buying more players ,,, it’s in changing the Manager . Somebody who understands how we feel and with respect for our History … would rather see 12million spent on saying goodbye to Pelligrini rather than wasting money on players that won’t fit the bill .
A club like West Ham United is crying out for a British Manager , somebody that speaks the language and is in touch with our emotions .
Please , everyone , don’t start to ask me who that might be when we have the answer within our very own academy . It’s either that or David Moyes , who if we are honest wasn’t bad and should have been granted an extension .

  5. Big Name Manager to put bums on seats ain’t working . We need someone with his / her heart in it , someone who understands us and our frustrations and desires . And might I add Heartbreak’s at seeing so many very good players being sold over a period of 40yrs .
It’s a Long List of which I’m sure we are all aware .

  6. Has Husillos written all over it.2 players who are untried in the rough and tumble World of British football. Why another Brazilian winger?.Much better to spend it On a quality midfielder for starters.Having said that all our transfer targets will change in a flash if we lose to Palace and Leicester and Pellegrini is sacked.Sorry for sounding pessimistic again but i can see Zaba having a torrid old afternoon against Zaha.Again we need a quality RB ahead of Brazilian flair that could backfire.Priorities seem all wrong again.

  7. Just cant believe anything we read anymore..nothing against you hugh just west ham in general..that’s about the 6 player in the last 2 days..but apparently we have no money,,and even if we did why give it to the bloke who bought Sanchez and that great signing Roberto, ..the clubs a bit like Brexit a total circus….

  8. Gabriel Barbosa and Bruno Henrique for GBP 25 million would be fantastic business,
Unfortunately Bruno is very unlikely to get a work permit and Gabriel is an Inter Milan player again.

  9. Could Scottie Parker be the Young English mgr we are lookin for ?
