Hammers make it a comfortable afternoon for United

If this was a school report the inevitable comment would be “Must try harder ” followed by a four or five out of ten as the Hammers crashed to a 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Hammers make it a comfortable afternoon for United

Yes, ok, they were a bit better than they had been against Bournemouth but the Hammers really weren’t that good against an average United side who had one of their most comfortable afternoons of the season.

And in real terms it meant that United leap-frogged over us into sixth place as the Hammers saw themselves go six games without a win. So much for the official site’s beloved “five games undefeated” routine.

This is not a team you can see bouncing back against Arsenal next week as beyond a well saved Soucek early header,  a thumping Ben Johnson shot and a blocked Bowen effort there was little on display to have us believe there are goals in the team. Emerson had another great chance but from close in smashed the ball well over the top. How badly we need Paqueta back.

The goals came from Højlund (23′minutes) and the outstanding Garnacho (49′minutes84′minutes), the first of which took a wicked deflection of the returned Aguerd.

This was more or less our best team with the notable absence of Paqueta and a day when no player shone or even glowed.

One wonders how on earth we are going to win another game as things are right now. We can’t beat the supposed lesser teams and have run out of ideas on how to beat the better outfits which is what we are pretty good at sometimes.

It is  becoming more than a bit worrying. Let’s be honest, the Hammers are not looking to be in a good place.

Got 5 season tickets in our group. 2 have said they’re not renewing no matter. 2 have joined them today but I’m hoping they’re just being emotional. If they don’t renew though, I won’t go alone.

At least it can’t be claimed that we were negative with 49% of play, 25 shots on goal to their 17 and 8 corners to their 5.
This one is down to the players who didn’t even push for two penalties when Zouma fouled!

Come on Board, he couldn’t run a kids party, sack Moyes.
