Hammers midfielder entirely happy with life

|

Tomas Soucek has enjoyed a very decent start to the season although some of course continue to judge him on last year which he has agreed was not his best.

The midfielder has admitted that he was demotivated but that this season is working out far better as he takes on the defensive and attacking role.

That has allowed him to score against Sheffield United, Newcastle  and in the Europa Cup win  against FK TSC and the winning effort in the Carabao Cup third round victory away to Lincoln City.

He has also been in form for his international side and he believes the new look midfield is helping in a start to the season which whilst latterly not so good will see the Hammers progress starting against Everton tomorrow.

Whether attacking or defending Soucek understands his role in the team is desperatelly important which demands full commitment.

He tells the Matchday programme: “I am very happy with how we have started the season. We’re playing in three competitions already this season and we’ve got ourselves into a good position in the Premier League. Now, we want to stay there.

“I’m really happy that I can help the team with my goals. I’ve scored a few already but I think that’s down to the position we’re playing in midfield now.

I can defend and I can go forward and attack. I can do whatever is needed to help the team. If that is with goals, then great! But if it’s in another way then I’m more than happy to do that job.”
