Hammers midfielder on move

Coventry- impressive

West Ham are understood to be allowing midfielder Conor Coventry to leave the club on loan this January for Rotherham United.

Some may have felt that he would better off being allowed to help us in our current battle after showing some great form on his few first team appearances.

Instead he will be aiding the Championship club in theirs as they are currently in 20th position

He will find himself in the same scenario as last season when he was at Peterborough United in their struggle before being transferred on loan to MK Dons whom he helped to promotion!!

He has now been allowed on loan for Lincoln CityPeterborough United and Milton Keynes Dons during his time at West Ham where the manager appears to have doubts abut his first team potential

Born in England, he represents the Republic of Ireland at youth international level and is the Republic of Ireland’s all-time record holder for the most appearances at U21 level with 28 caps.

The good news however is that his Hammers contract has been extended for 12 months.

Loaning out Connor Coventry ! Rather like Sergeant Wilson in Dad’s Army, someone should say to David Moyes, given the injuries we have and lack of personnel in every part of the pitch “do you think that is really wise”.

I really feel for Conor with loan after loan. Moyes obviously doesn’t like him despite him showing great promise so why doesn’t he just sell him and buy and old injury prone player instead
