Hammers mixing it with Everton for £25 million Summer signing

With the signature of Daniel Cummings close, pending the outcome of his medical, it seems West Ham are planning for the future through investing in young, ‘entry’ level forwards rather than breaking the bank to bring in another injury prone goalscorer who may be past their best: Clearly the Hammers aren’t able to mix it for the ‘top products’ like Duran, so buying younger and developing them makes a lot of sense.

The market place is tough though, Nobody wants to let their precious assets go – one such target who was linked with a winter move had a £25 million price tag slapped on him by Rangers who didn’t want to lose their 22 year old Moroccan Hamza Igamane mid-season as, at the time, Everton were circling.

Reports linked West Ham with a move for the striker in the same window and stories now suggest the Hammers are looking to capitalise on their recruitment north of the border as a more cost efficient way of growing the squad post 24/5 season end.

Igamame may be a tough ‘sell’ though: Reports have suggested Mark Noble promised Celtic’s youngster Daniel Cummings that he’d be headed for the senior squad, not the u21’s – so doing the same for Igamame who at 22 is arguably more ready to hit the ground running will probably be required. Are the duo good enough for Premier League football?

I doubt we will find out, since 22 year old Igamane is definitely happy with life north of the border and won’t be easy to prise away from Rangers. Everton.news confirm the Moroccan’s stance :”I am happy in Scotland, I spend a lot of time at home outside of training and matches. I have everything I need, I lack nothing. I have to thank the Rangers management for putting me in such conditions.”

So it’ll take a pretty big chunk of cash and all sorts of promises for West Ham to lever the 22 year old away in the summer. The trouble is, any decent goalscorer worth having will cost £30- £40 million as we know from the last window’s failed antics- so West Ham will no doubt continue to hunt through the ‘bargains’ rail in the summer transfer window TK Max store. Are we surprised?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

Get Bellingham from Sunderland and take a punt on his teammate Isidor…the championship is a much better yardstick for players than the Scottish Prem…. the days are long gone when every summer you were shopping for bargains like Neil Orr Ray Stewart Frank MacAvennie etc.

It’s another non story. The lad is clearly.happy at Rangers and how can anyone possibly promise first team football before players have even proved themselves at the higher level? Yesterday Sean reported we were could be facing losses totalling £160 million over the this season and next. Today we are reported to be linked with a player costing £25 million! Why do you even bother reporting this stuff?

Adam Idah couldn’t score in the championship for Norwich he’s scoring for fun in Scotland.
Matt o Reilly looked world class at Celtic but can’t get on the Brighton team. Just saying
