Hammers move fast to sign Osman alternative

|

West Ham has reportedly come to terms with Al-Ittihad’s Jota, as revealed in various reports. ExWHUEmployee mentioned on his Twitter page this morning that the club is considering Jota as an alternative to Ibrahim Osman.

Although Jota was initially identified as a transfer target for the Hammers early in the window, discussions had quieted down with the imminent signing of Ghanaian winger Osman. However, with the Osman deal appearing to be off the table, Jota’s name has resurfaced.

Positive discussions are currently underway between the two clubs, and there is optimism that a comprehensive agreement can be achieved. Presently, Jota is awaiting approval to travel to the UK for a medical examination.

Jota made the move to Al-Ittihad from Celtic last summer for a fee just under €30 million. However the Saudi club never registered the player who is now seemingly unwanted. What this means for his value is anyone’s guess, however the Hammers could find themselves as beneficiaries of a very strange set of circumstances.
