Hammers move to Shanghai

|

The West Ham first-team squad have left their hotel in Nanjing in China and travelled back to Shanghai and are now staying at the five-star Pudong Shangri-La Hotel.

After the 4-1 loss against Manchester City on Wednesday at Olympic Sports Centre, they now face Newcastle for the 3rd/4th place playoff at the Hongkou Football Stadium this Saturday. West Ham believes the Asia Trophy tournament has helped build their brand in Asia and particularly in China, the money they have been paid by the Premier League and organisers to take part in the Chinese tour will fund both summer training camps in Swizterland/Austria leaving the whole summer pre-season cost neutral in terms of flights, hotels and expenses.

Following the end of the Premier League Asia Trophy, the Hammers squad will then return to the UK for a few days off with their families before returning to Rush Green before playing Fulham on Craven Cottage on Saturday 27th July. Both Pablo Fornals and Sebastien Haller will join up with the squad at Rush Green next week as will Fabian Balbuena and Arthur Masuaku.

Following the game at West London, they fly off to Austria again for their second summer training camp where they will face Hertha Berlin.
