Transfer news: Hammers moving in on Chelsea flier

|

MosesChelsea’s Victor Moses has hit the Hammers wanted list with the club admitting: “We are interested.”

A deal for the player is currently under discussion at around £7 million, as West Ham move heaven and earth to give new manager, Slaven Bilic, the firepower he needs to correct a misfiring squad.

It’s clear that a wide man who can deliver a supply line to the main strikers is essential, and Moses very much fits this mould.

And with a striker on his way into the club – where three names are currently under active consideration – the club has admitted to ClaretandHugh tonight: “Yes there’s an interest.”

Moses has spent a couple of season away from Stamford Bridge on loan to  Liverpool and then Stoke City, where last season he scored four goals in 23 appearances.

He scored two goals from 25 Liverpool appearances and the Irons are more than keen to land their man, despite possible interest from Stoke and Spurs.

We were told exclusively by a well-placed insider: “There’s a variance between ours and Chelsea’s valuations, but this could be a busy week on this and other fronts.”

canchaz you forgot to tell us all how Magia was going for £6 million and we were going to spend it on Moses,
Has you straight line to Slav,s brain been cut off ?
Could we sign Moses and Lennon now that would be great with Sakho or Carroll up top and Payet sitting in the pocket pulling the strings, who needs attacking full backs then,
What dreams are made of,possible, maybe, might, could be,

Canchaz go & sniff the glue with kevin. why come on this site if all you do is slate what the club are trying to achieve. in Slav I trust he & the players will turn it round

I really don’t get this, everyone is shouting for new players but shoot any name mentioned down in flames. There will be no pleasing some fans who ever the club signs. Go back a year & how many people were slagging the board off for buying a french 2nd division player. As reported earlier the club have put in offers for 5+ players.

Why come on them then Canchaz, all you do is moan about whats been written on them 😉

Seems, the biggest problem with all these sites reporting, is they have dropped the words ‘might and maybe’ from their vocabulary.
A lot of things might happen and a lot of things won’t

If we are looking for players to help defensively from the front he is woefully lacking, he does have great pace and going forward he can be a handful at times but overall I would much prefer a better quality player certainly if we are going to spend the reported 7 million on him. Anyone know what happened to the interest in Ezequiel Lavezzi from PSG, more paper talk or was there ever any concrete enquiries ? PSG were trying to offload Zlatan as well, I suppose the David’s could get both of them on loan deals 😉

Would rather have Januszai and Zaza…

I feel Moses is past it, looked promising when he played for Palace and then Wigan. Has since gone into standstill mode (almost a crash would I say), not being able to get a starting spot even for Stoke… Still young (24), thus susceptible to relaunch his career with the right manager for him, but yet a risk as far as I’m concerned.

Get rid of Nolan, he’s passed his best now though he has been HALF decent in the past. Bring in Moses, Moussa Sow who is Drogba-esque, good goalscoring record with both feet, he has won things and can also play on the wing. Yilmaz or Zaza, a rated full-back, Song or similar quality DM. I think we should keep Collins, he can be a bit daft at times but he is full of fight, unless we’re gonna bring in another CB which I doubt. Might be worth putting in a bid for Redmond in case Moses falls through.
Get that Santa…he’s coming early this year?!

Nice, would be a decent replacement for Maiga who has signed for some Arabian team tonight apparently, they’ve announced it on their Twitter.

  • MyOldMan says:

Definitely the sort of player that we are crying out for atm. Would expect there to be a hell of a lot of competition for his signature though and may push him out of our price range with us still wanting a striker and song/DM in as well. Fingers crossed

  • Richie says:

Moses is perhaps what we need more than most. I know others won’t like me saying this but this is another reason why I would keep Jarvis. Not necessarily to start games but to come in the second half and stretch things further. Moses would add pace which is crucial in this league both home and away. I think it is pretty obvious to all now we need a centre mid, winger and striker. Unfortunately I think the Liverpool game is going to come round to quickly for us so that means we have had a rotten start to our campaign in August. Hopefully we can get 3 players in, get 3 players back from injury and suddenly we have a match day squad which has competition for places. Heres hoping!

  • Stingray Stewart says:

Would be just what we need.Exciting player on his day.Good addition if we can nab him!

    • Roman says:

I think bubs has been singing the praises of Moses for a while now.WE don’t need Adebayor to strangle the finances when we have Nolan and the like already doing that.
