Hammers mystery man’s worrying injury record

|

Konstantinos Mavropanos has become something of a Hammers mystery manĀ  since becoming what looks like our fourth choice central defender.

Many were surprised that we went for another having Zouma, Aguerd and Oggy available with Kehrer also be able to fill in should an emergency arise.

Given the need on the left side of defence that’s where most though David Moyes would be looking but instead the Greece international arrived.

He has had something of a chequered career at the age of 25 having made just seven appearances for Arsenal between 2018-22 before spending two seasons- one permanent – at Stuttgart where he made 80 appearances.

Sadly, during his career he has missed 75 competitive games through injuries which have ranged through a series of different body areas from groin, shinbone, muscularĀ  adductor and various other problems.

In total since the 2018/19 season he has spent a total of 366 days of action – 24 hours above a year!
