There seems to be complete confusion surrounding West Ham’s attempt to sign Ajax striker Brian Brobbey.
Within the past hour, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the Dutch club will not loan Brobbey to West Ham unless an obligation to buy is included.
A top club source admitted that the Hammers are eager to secure the striker but insisted a deal is not close.
This contradicts earlier reports suggesting the pacey striker was set to fly in for a medical within the next 48 hours.
Adding another layer of intrigue, Claret & Hugh was informed this morning by a third party that the Hammers are “very, very close” to completing a deal for the 22-year-old, although “movement on finances” is still required from West Ham to complete the deal. What is clear is that Ajax are prepared to allowed the striker to move with talks continuing until the early hours of this morning.
Meanwhile, the club remains in talks for striker Andre Silva, who has been viewed as a backup option throughout the transfer window.
nice
So now we’re after Mr Brobbey
Time to get creative! Only accept an obligation to buy if he scores 3 or more goals playing for the 1st team. That would overcome injury or failure to make the grade issues!
That’s what happens if you make deranged £57M offers that it’s obvious are never going to be accepted. Others think you’re made of money.
Good Point ..
This is a phantom bid because we all know it’s is going to end up with no one or Silva.
😂😂😂😂
Roll on 2 February get rid of this speculation for another 6 months.
Ifs, buts and maybe’s how about something definite.
11.00pm 2/2/2025 there will still be question marks.
Thinking about silva has fulkrug#2 written all over it,if the board had any sense of integrity they would let the supporters of this club know exact What’s going on as at the moment we look like a complete bunch of ameteurs waiting to be done over yet again
Some fans want to know about every enquiry made and others moan that we should keep our dealings secret. I guess you can’t please all the people all the time 😊
Back to the day without Stiedten this is all sullivan doing We cant even complete a transfer now without a drama low balling offers and we tried the bad old days are back and here to stay
Why is an option to buy a problem if they like him…..especially as it’s under half of what they offered for Duran…this shows that the Duran bid was all bull …thet forget there own f ups….terrible
Is our club that useless now, that they can’t conduct any sort of transfer of any kind ? I’m amazed that anyone will do business with us, due to the way we conduct ourselves. Why on earth would Ajax allow their first choice striker to leave, without us having at least an obligation to buy. Sort it out West Ham. We are a complete laughing stock & entirely the boards fault.
Need to do a Wimbledon and start from scratch – need to get away from Sullivan and the rest of the incompetent buffoons parading as the board !
