Hammers off to Wembley in next round

West Ham have been drawn away to Spurs in the next round of the Carabao Cup with the high profile clash going ahead at Wembley.

Phil Thompson pulled the Hammers No 10 out of the hat after Charlie Nicholas had drawn Spurs as the first ball.

So Saturday’s match against the North Londoners could almost be seen as a dress rehearsal for the derby on October 23.

David Gold and everybody else had hoped the Hammers would get a home draw but it would be entirely fitting for us to get the victory at Wembley where Bobby Moore’s statue stands so proudly outside the ground.

THE DRAW:

TOTTENHAM v WEST HAM

BRISTOL CITY v CRYSTAL PALACE

SWANSEA CITY v MANCHESTER UNITED

ARSENAL v NORWICH CITY

CHELSEA v EVERTON

MANCHESTER CITY v WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

LEICESTER v LEEDS

BOURNEMOUTH v MIDDLESBROUGH
