The application was submitted to increase the capacity of the stadium for pitch sports from 60,000 to 62,500 on 24th May 2022.

The timing of the submission was not a formal requirement but it does take time to assess and consult on the application and to put in place the measures necessary to allow for the issue of the General Safety Certificate that authorises the increased capacity.

Statutory partners are being consulted and there are works that must be completed to facilitate the new capacity. Newham council are also reviewing the new seating manifest that has been proposed.

In addition CandH understand the the new £14.5m West stand is being currently being installed after section 106 and planning permission was discharged.
