Hammers on trail of PL striker

Andre_Gray_2016West Ham have added Burnley’s Andre Gray to the list  of striker targets they will be considering this summer.

With a year left on his current deal and no talks having taken place on a new deal the 25 year old looks set to leave Turf Moor.

Gray grabbed 23 goals last term and has managed nine from 25 games this term amid reports that Gareth Southgate may give him an England call-up later this month.

The Clarets have moved to open negotiations, but the player is aware of interest from the Irons, Stoke and Newcastle and will see how the matter progresses when the current campaign is over.

The Hammers are looking high and low for a striker and have made their position on “buying British” clear and have watched the Wolverhampton born striker.

A Hammers source said: “He has certainly been looked at and all things are possible in the summer.”

  1. Hope it’s a red herring .

  2. He looked lively and showed a couple of flashes when we played Burnley at the OS, but he’s not physically imposing enough to be the main Striker – he looks ok but there must be better than him!

  3. My mate is a Burnley lad born and bred and thinks he is utter rubbish. Always been surprised by his dislike of him tbh as he scores a few but he is adamant. I’ll go with my mate so it’s a no from me.
