Hammers open up bidding for striker

West Ham are set to make an opening €10m  (£8.9m) bid for 24-year-old Senegalese attacker Boulaye Dia from Reims according to French TV channel Telefoot La Chain Du Foot.

Last week the agent of Boulaye Dia has confirmed that West Ham have made an approach to sign the Reims striker. He also reveals he is unsure if Dia will move in this window, as he believes his client could be able to attract more clubs in the summer.

The 24-year-old has scored 10 Ligue 1 goals and assisted once in 16 appearances this term making him one of the highest scorers in the French top-flight league.

Dia scored 10 league goals in 42 games across the last two seasons and is proving to be a real quality finisher in Europe.

Dia’s Stade Reims contract runs until 2022 and it is claimed he is David Moyes number one striker target.

However, the Hammers could face competition for Dia’s signature. Arsenal, Marseille and Lyon are all thought to be big fans of the young striker.

  1. I know nothing about him but I would really have liked us to sign the Hertha Berlin player Piatek, is a class CF but not in the mould of Antonio or this guy Dia. We also really need a signing in the middle of the park because if Rice or Soucek get injured we have no options. Noble is ok playing against lower league teams in the cup but is way past his sell by date in the PL.

    • Don’t think Piatek would suit Moyes he very much relies on service is fox in box. Not good at leading line alone. Lundstram was decent agaisnt Newcastle deal up in June I miss a left footed CM. If absolutely love Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar think he has been underrated for years bc Frenkie De Jong & other Dutch Defenders but think he is better then Frenkie. Moyes type too versatile engine work rate & captain at 22 has lovely left foot adding a lot of open play goals & assists to game now too. Also very good as CB so be cover for Oggy as LCB & wouldn’t break the bank but have huge resale. Scored a cracking back heel agaisnt PSV last night beautiful. Deft need CM tho Fornals can do a job there if we lost Souček or Rice for a while we’d be in trouble

  2. That young 20yr old Slavia Prague striker is on the radar too.Came recommended by Soucek.

  3. Linked allover but most the first lot of links are similar fast counter attacking style CFs like Dia Daka King Sima Armstrong….
Like Dia but still not too experience last season frost full season & broke out this season. £10-15m could be good deal though. If we signed any of 5 above I’d be happy.
*Sean any truth to we paid Haller £3m to go to Ajax to take wage cut from £130k to £90k?
Seems mad still be Ajax highest paid player & didn’t think he made £130k, paying wages for players who want a move seem mental, all about the money though. Danilo who is on loan at FC Twente from AJAX has openly come out about not being happy about deal bc he was told of did well would get regular games & has 11 goals 5 assists, I take him on loan with option😉

  4. 10 goals in over 40 appearances? Sounds great.

  5. Shock horror Johnham actually likes a player, might have known it wasn’t one that had anything to do with West Ham though.
