Hammers opposed to Chelsea London Stadium move

Chelsea are very unlikely to share the London Stadium with West Ham who as anchor tenants have priority to play their games there.

The Hammers are opposed to such an agreement and of course will have priority which is the rule under which the Premier League also operates in such circumstances.

Beyond that, a highly placed West Ham insider told Claret and Hugh this evening (Sat): “We are looking into it as I think we have blocking rights.

It would also prove very expensive for Chelsea to play their games  as the stadium owners would want them to foot the match day stewarding expense of around £250k for around the likely 30 games in which they would be involved.

Our Hammers source added: ” I believe our our concession agreement is in the public domain. Wembley is a better deal for Chelsea. I can’t see them coming to the LS. It’s all too expensive for them.”

Whoever is responsible for even thinking this, has no idea regarding the naturally tribal nature of football. There is no way that such an idea should even be able to get any kind of traction.
Also, I have NEVER been a supporter of allowing our domestic teams to be able to use our sacred National Stadium for their home games as this is unfair to the footballers who only get the opportunity to play at Wembley on rare prestigious occasions and an insult to the talented players who have graced this turf in the past (even though it is a rebuild).
It cheapens the occasion and also gives an unfair advantage to a team who plays at Wembley regularly, should they make it to the FA or League cup final.
