West Ham expect the betting probe into Lucas Paquetta to be completed within three or four months although there can be no guarantees in such cases.
Paquetta has been charged with offences and the Brazilian authorities want him to give details to them as well but the Hammers midfielder is making it clear that he is not guilty of any wrong doing.
The recent charge against Brentford’s Ivan Toney shows that the investigation took six months to come to a conclusion that the striker had committed 232 offences against their rules before delivering an eight match ban against him.
He in fact didn’t challenge that but the Football Association nonetheless took a long while looking into the issues against him anyway.
Paqueta appears to have just one charge against him and a difficult one to prove right so the club and player would expect a result in their favour with three months.
Unlike Toney he will “plead” that he is not guilty of ANY offence.
