Hammers plans to keep Rice depend on Chelsea player

|

West Ham plans to keep Declan Rice could rely on Chelsea keeping hold of  N’Golo Kante this summer.

Club insiders have said while there has been no enquiry or bid for Rice to date but they are bracing themselves for one from Chelsea if Kante is sold.

Antonio Conte is keen to be reunited with N’Golo Kante at Inter Milan if the Serie A giants can afford the Chelsea midfielder’s massive transfer fee and wages, according to new reports.

World Cup winner Kante is believed to earn around £150,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, which could prove a stumbling block for a potential move to Italy. Kante was recently linked with a move to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of £70m.

Kante is a former Premier League Player of the Season winner and lifted the trophy in successive years at Leicester and Chelsea.

The 29-year-old has a contract in West London until 2023 and has shown his prowess as a holding midfielder as well as his ability to play a more attacking role in the middle of the park. It would take at least, the full £70m received for Kante to tempt the Hammers to sell their star player as everyone has a price but a lot would depend on Rice himself and personal terms.

Sorry but it needs to be made clear that Rice is not for sale at all and that we are building a team that has him as our next captain. If we keep selling our best we will need move forwards but always be what we are now, which isn’t that enjoyable on any level. I disagree that everyone has their price, you just have to be unwilling to sell, other teams have done that, about time we kept our best and developed around them.

I agree with this. If we are to start challenging for a top 6 spot, we need to keep our best players. Likewise, players need to be somewhat loyal to enable stability and hopefully challenging for trophies (FA Cup minimum these days).

I agree. Time to tell any club if they ask he is not for sale. Either that or as a club we will never progress.Had enough of struggle year after year -give or take. If what we do noe depends on other clubs needs all i can say is what are we doing ?

I want us to keep Rice but if someone offers £100m for him, we will sell, unfortunately on the finances we are not a big club and we need money to progress further, hopefully we get another season of him at the heart of the team, he clearly loves the club 🙂

Rather than continually reading perceived stories about what other clubs want regarding Declan, tough, I want a Porsche GT3, but I can’t have one and neither can these clubs think they can cherry pick players just because they want them.
Instead we should tell them we want Mason Mount at West Ham To pair up in our midfield.

  • mooro66uk says:

Exile, do you think Mount might renounce European football and domestic success? Playing under a young, progressive manager who clearly sees him as a vital cog? All this to come and play for the perpetually struggling, cash strapped, under achieving Hammers?

    • Eastendexile says:

No, it was the principle that says you’ve got something I want , so it must happen regardless of what we might want because we are richer than you.
Time to stand up for our own ambitions

Selling Rice no matter what the price would like shooting our selves in the foot . We need to plan for the future and selling Rice would be a huge step back in our ambitions . We need to build on what we have and selling Rice would remove a very important brick from the wall .
Although there have been no concrete offers yet it is time for West Ham to state Rice is not for sale and maybe RICE himself should also state his desire to stay with us and help the club to better times . I would hate to see Rice getting booed by the Hammers fans . We don’t need another Lampard . West Ham can start to become an impressive club in the Prem if we keep our best talent and future captain .

I think it’s inevitable that rice will leave I just hope it’s not for a couple of seasons. he seems happy at the hammers and he’s getting his game every week which wouldn’t necessarily be the case if he moved to a perceived bigger club. The worry for me is not declans feelings but those of his agent who engineered the whole international saga which did declan no favours from a PR aspect. if he (the agent) decides it’s time for declan to move then sadly i think he’ll be gone
