Hammers play it cool on central midfielder

West Ham are tonight being reported as having made a €35 million offer to sign Franck Kessie from Milan.

The 21 year old central midfielder is on the short list of many top clubs although he has a contract at Milan until 2022 and it would take every penny of the 35 million euros to get him out of the club.

He’s a wanted man though and and has also attracted interest from Wolves in recent weeks.

Teams from the Chinese Super League are also said to be keen but that is the unlikeliest of moves given that only three foreigners per team are now allowed and that players tend to end their careers there rather than start it.

Kessie arrived at Milan from Atalanta, where he had previously been linked with a host of top European clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Irons meanwhile are playing down any interest telling ClaretandHugh: “It’s news to us that an offer has been made but he’s a player we know about.”

  1. I’m an x pro and have watched westham 23’s on numerous occasions…can anyone tell me the history of westley, and manning ,because Ive never heard or come across either of them in the game. The team play with no pattern and resort to long ball tactics .The one bright spark for me. Who seems to want to play and pass is Alfie Lewis tremendous footballer
