Hammers pour contempt on defensive departures
CandH Exclusive by Hugh Southon
West Ham have poured contempt on stories suggesting that Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd or both could be on their way to Saudi Arabia in the next transfer window.
With the international break making life difficult for media site news gatherers. all sorts of garbage is raised in an attempt to create any interest.
Zouma/Aguerd exits are rubbish
But the club this afternoon told Claret and Hugh that there has been no contact from agents or anyone else connected with the two players and added: ” We here this rubbish all the time.”
Leading the way with these “stories” are Football Insider who have been claiming for days that either or both players are big January targets for the Saudi League.
But the club put an entirely different perspective on the Zouma situation with our key source saying: “This started of course when Claret and Hugh reported there was no rush to sign Kurt to a new deal which is the case given he has over a year and a half left on the current one.
“He loves it at West Ham and loves London. We also need to remember he was approached by a Saudi Club last summer but turned the move down. Aguerd meanwhile is on a contract until 2027 so I think not.
“It’s difficult knowing where this stuff comes from as after all there is another 10 weeks before the window even opens.”
