The Hammers kick off pre-season with a game against Swiss Super League side Servette in Geneva on Friday 8 July.
The game will take place at the Stade de Genève (kick-off 6pm local time, 5pm BST) following a week-long training camp in nearby Évian, France.
The announcement of course serves to remind us how short the break between seasons is this year with the League fixtures already having been published.
And it’s also clear how urgently new players are required as the player prepare to finish of their holidays and be ready for the French training camp.
Servette, finished sixth in the ten-team Swiss Super League in 2021/22. They are one of Switzerland’s oldest and most successful clubs, winning 17 national titles and seven Swiss Cups since their formation in 1890.
After the match in Geneva it’s back to the UK as the squad go into four games against domestic opposition.
On Tuesday 12 July, Moyes will split his squad, with one team heading to Suffolk to face EFL League One side Ipswich Town, while the other travel to National League outfit Boreham Wood. Both games will kick-off at 7pm.
The Hammers’ next fixture will be played at 3pm on Saturday 16 July, when they travel to Reading. who we beat 3-0 last season.
A week later, on Saturday 23 July, Championship Play-Off semi-finalists Luton Town will host West Ham at Kenilworth Road in another 3pm kick-off.
Ticket information for the match in Geneva, along with West Ham United’s other pre-season friendlies, will be published on www. whufc.com in due course.
