Hammers prove a massive point at Liverpool

West Ham proved a massive point that NEEDED proving at Liverpool yesterday afternoon and it didn’t take the manager too long to draw attention to it!

Declan Rice’s presence in the team has been overwhelming over the last couple of seasons .

And it has led to many believing that he has driven the Hammers towards becoming almost a one man team.

That has as much to do with the ridiculous amount of publicity that’s been piled on his head which has tended to obscure the performances of others in the team.

Nobody is attempting to diminish his importance to the squad and it’s unlikely that he will be going anywhere this summer with hopes that as the squad hits a permanent upwardly mobile model he can be persuaded to sign a massive new contract.

In the meantime we saw at Anfield the solidarity and spirit of a squad which can cope in his absence – as was the case of course when he was injured last season.

The manager made the same point about us not being a one man team after yesterday’s game and he was right.

Another massive “well done” to the lads as a result.

  1. It was well done. And they should have got some goals. More shooting practice required.
Might even have won, although Liverpool would have gone up a gear if we did score.

  2. I really enjoyed the performance and was proud of them for their effort and concentration. We are creating chances on the break too, we just need some cool composure in front of goal. Once the players expect to score we will succeed. Well played Irons
