Hammers put Rice on “off limits” list

West Ham won’t rule out selling Felipe Anderson  but unless a mega – “much closer to £100 million than £60 million “bids  for Declan Rice would are very much is off limits.

The Irons can see no future whatsoever in selling the defensive midfield but the Brazilian – who is on around double the 21 year old’s wages – could be available but certainly at no less than the £35 million the club paid for him.

The board still have a chunk of the Sebastian Haller purchase to find but there will be no panic sales to foot the bill.

However, should the moment come when bids were to arrive would look at fees and the wage bill of the wanted player and Anderson – at £85k a week – would be a possibility.

We were told by an insider on the ‘phone: “We do not see Declan being sold. He’s as near to off limits as it gets

“In a market such as we are likely to see when things return to normal it’s unlikely any club will be coming forward with the sort of money that would be acceptable anyway. But quite simply, we don’t want to sell him.

“There are other players who could attract offers and we will think about all that if and when the occasion arrives.”

  1. That’s good news cant see anyone offering 100 mil

  2. If Hammers sold Rice it would prove they lack any ambition because he is one of the players key to avoiding relegation
