But the rumour that they are working on an offer at all reflects the planning being done at the club for a scenario in which they stay up, rebuild, and look to move in a different direction from the season they have just endured.
IF true it shows that there’s activity behind the scenes to build on ‘survival’ for the summer rather than sleepwalking into a window without a plan. Smacks very much of Nuno’s long term strategy, but Hammers fans will wonder first and foremost where the money is coming from.
