Six games remain and West Ham sit 17th, two points above the drop zone with one of the most turbulent seasons in recent memory drawing towards a conclusion. What makes the situation stranger is that planning for next season is already under way regardless.
West Ham preparing bid for Rennes sensation Djaoui Cisse
According to Africa Foot, West Ham are among the clubs ‘preparing transfer offers’ for Djaoui Cissé, the Rennes midfielder who has attracted considerable attention across Europe this season..he could leave for just £17m (Magassa money-MT)

But the rumour that they are working on an offer at all reflects the planning being done at the club for a scenario in which they stay up, rebuild, and look to move in a different direction from the season they have just endured.
IF true it shows that there’s activity behind the scenes to build on ‘survival’ for the summer rather than sleepwalking into a window without a plan. Smacks very much of Nuno’s long term strategy, but Hammers fans will wonder first and foremost where the money is coming from.
Blimey , ” planning for the future ” whatever next ? a new level perhaps, or more likely, same again next season….
We are 6th in the last 4 played form table, 11th in the last 6 played, 8th in the last 8 played, 7th in the last 10 played, and 7th in the last 12 played.
Our form is that of a mid table team challenging for European places, it is not that of a bottom half team let alone a relegation candidate.
All of Tottenham, Forest and Leeds are below us in all of those tables.
That is no guarantee but it is a strong indication.
