Hammers ratings – out of 10

SlavbllWe are going to feast out on this for months and you know what …so we should.

A new manager, a new team, virtually untried teenagers on the bench after several injuries and players being forced out of position – notably the outstanding James Tomkins who had an astounding game at right back.

Darren Randolph looked as safe as houses, both Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna were superb and Aaron Cresswell was right back to his best.

Mark Noble had perhaps his best ever game for us until being so wronglyu sent off, Pedro Obiang was seriously competitive, Cheik Kouyate was an all action hero, Dimitri Payet is a total star and Diafra Sakho was excellent.

No praise is high enough for manager Slaven Bilic!

Randolph 10

Tomkins 10

Reid 10

Ogbonna 10

Cresswell 10

Noble 10

Kouyate 10

Lanzini 10

Payet 10

Obiang 10

Sakho 10

SLAVEN BILIC 11

  1. Fans rating nothing less than a 10

  2. Bit over the top lol but hey lets enjoy it untill we see what west ham team turn up next time coyi 🙂

  3. Referee – ‘Kev’ Friend -10 (that’s minus ten)

(Going for the ‘Anthony Taylor’ Award for Refereeing Excellence by getting two Sendings-off rescinded)

  4. I know you’ve given all the lads a 10, but how could you fail to mention Lanzini, who was arguably our best player – dynamic both attacking and defending, skilful and tireless. It was one of the best Prem debuts I’ve seen for years.

  5. Yeah Hugh, how the bloody hell can you forget Lanzini.Scored the first, created the second with his persistance & was superb all game but the only poor sod not to get a mention.I know he is a midget but not so small to be forgotten 😉

  6. The reason we won was getting rid of Schuster Nolan at just the right time.

  7. But what did the bus driver score 12 you never even knew he was there,

  8. Lanzini was incredible in defence helping out Tomkins as well as in attack. That was key for me. Tomkins was excellent but fullbacks weren’t left exposed like they were against Bournemouth. Attackers got back to defend and double up with fullbacks. Lanzini isn’t the biggest but has a way of just nipping in or poking his toes in to nick a ball from the oppositions feet. I thought he was brilliant in every department yesterday.

  9. Couldn’t help noticing that you’ve only given Bilic 11…..

Loved watching The Great Allardici on Setanta, completely unable to do anything other than praise us!

    In Slaven we trust. COYI
