Hammers ready for bids story feels wide of mark

|

Reports that the Hammers are ready to listen to offers for Fabian Balbuena today seem wildly wide of the mark.

And should they turn out to be true it would make  a mockery of the manager’s decision that he needed four quality central defenders at the club when bringing in Craig Dawson who was essentially seen as insurance against injuries

The General was in tremendous form for the club before being replaced by the impressive Dawson earlier in the campaign and won his way right back into favour with Moyes who at one stage was reported as not being overly impressed..

Beyond anything else, Baluena is out of contract in June and although he will have the usual option attached, the club would have little chance of getting a decent transfer fee even were they to decide to sell today.

And in the summer his agent  Augusto Paraja has told ESPN Brazil that his client very much wants to stay at West Ham beyond the summer of 2021:

The Telegraph has reported we are ready to listen to offers today but it would be a major surprise were that to be the case.
