West Ham youngster Callum Marshall has been named Huddersfield Town’s Player of the Year for the 2024/25 Sky Bet League One season.
The 19-year-old striker made 43 league appearances, scoring nine goals and registering three assists, becoming a standout performer in a difficult season for the Terriers.
Despite Huddersfield’s struggles, Marshall remained consistent and earned praise from both fans and staff, who frequently highlighted his work rate, attitude, and impact.
The on-loan Northern Ireland international is highly regarded by the Yorkshire club, with Huddersfield manager Michael Nuff openly admitting they would like to sign him permanently. However, Claret & Hugh were told last month that such a move is off the table.
West Ham plan to recall Marshall when his loan expires at the end of the current campaign, with the striker expected to link up with Graham Potter for pre-season training.
This season has been a breakthrough campaign for the young forward—especially after last year’s failed loan to West Brom—and he has since become an established full international, earning eight senior caps for Northern Ireland.
Marshall’s progress will be closely monitored this summer, as he pushes to make the step up into West Ham’s first-team plans.
Complete rubbish!
What offer?
He hasn’t won the club player of the year award.
Who’s Michael Nuff?
Good news. Marshall is the standout youngster for me. He has a lot of Jarrod Bowens qualities especially with his work rate. I can only see him getting better if he continues to work so hard.
Academy players and Guilherme look to be gathering momentum.
Let’s hope they’re successful in combining with remaining established players.
Big push maybe possible next season.
Can’t be any worse than existing season.
Michael who?! Need to check your facts. Michael Duff hasn’t been HTAFC manager for a couple of months
With safety guaranteed at least a month ago, why haven’t some youngsters been given a chance? I thought Potter loved bringing players through…
He’s young and has time to learn but still sounds a lot better than some of the over paid crocks we already have
He should stand a good chance of West Ham 1st team given some of the dross we will hopefully have cleared out bwfore the start of next season.
