West Ham United have reignited their interest in Chilean striker Ben Brereton Diaz, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb. The 25-year-old forward emerged as a potential target for the Hammers last summer, but he ultimately opted for a free transfer to Villarreal. With questions lingering about West Ham’s attacking options, Brereton Diaz’s name resurfaces, sparking debate among fans.

Brereton Diaz boasts a commendable goalscoring record. He plundered 38 goals in 87 games for Blackburn Rovers, showcasing his finishing ability in the Championship. This impressive form continued during his loan spell at Sheffield United last season, where he netted 6 goals in 14 Premier League appearances.

West Ham were linked with Brereton Diaz last summer, suggesting he might fit their attacking style. His availability on a free transfer then would have been a significant advantage.

However, a major concern surrounds Brereton Diaz’s recent struggles. His move to Villarreal proved challenging, as he failed to register a single goal or assist in 20 appearances. This raises questions about his ability to adapt to a higher level of competition in the Premier League.

While Brereton Diaz’s past performance suggests potential, his struggles in Spain raise doubts about his suitability for West Ham’s ambitions of genuine progress.

Ultimately, the decision rests with manager Julen Lopetegui. He might prioritise a younger striker with higher upside, or perhaps Brereton Diaz’s experience and work ethic align with Lopetegui’s vision?

Mentions that Diaz finished the season with 6 goals in 14 games for Sheffield United. Then goes on about the poor form in Spain and would Diaz be able to translate to premier league.

Just in terms of structure. This is a poorly written article. Before you even given the content.
