Hammers relax as Aguerd news emerges

|

West Ham’s backroom staff relaxed a little this afternoon as an update broke on Nayef Aguerd’s injury situation.

As we reported earlier there have been fears that the Moroccans may decide – such has been the central defender’s fine World Cup form – to include him in the team to meet Portugal in the quarter finals.

However, it seems that this may be unlikely with the player missing out on training today.

It is not great news that the player is injured at all but it now looks unlikely he will be rushed and therefore run the risk of aggravating the injury any further.

ASs things stand the thigh strain would be sorted with a one to three week period so long as he receive the necessary rest.

That he was not included in today’s training suggests that the Moroccans will leave him on the sidelines giving him time to recover for any future involvement in the tournament.

According toRMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi and Aguerd were both miissing with  Hakimi has a minor issue and  Aguerd’s more of a concern as far as semi final action is concerned.
