West Ham are closing in on the 30m euro signing of 18-year-old Brazilian speedster Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras. Reports are suggesting that the winger is so close to agreeing terms that he could travel to London for a medical as early as this week.
Irons director of football Tim Steidten has been in Brazil trying to add to a squad which is expecting a mass exodus with a number of players leaving The London Stadium. Steidten has made several trips to South America during the past few months and it’s understood that Guilherme is The Hammers number one target.
Despite rumours the bid to sign Guilherme was in danger of being called off, West Ham have continued to negotiate with the player having been given the green light to discuss terms by his club.
It would be West Ham’s first signing since David Moyes was replaced by Julen Lopetegui at the end of the season and Steidten took control of the club’s transfer dealings. Steidten yesterday received the full backing of the West Ham board when the club spoke directly to Claret & Hugh.
Guilherme made his Palmeiras debut as a 17-year-old in 2023 and played for the club in this season’s Copa Libertadores group stage.
He’s pretty young just right for our under 23 side,? A very expensive bench warmer, or maybe he’ll go straight in to the first team and upset all the existing youngsters who up until now can’t get anywhere near?!
As I said beforehand deals can be done be pree signed agreement bud ..that’s why they are rushing to get it done
So no one.can poach him at last min …if you look at other clubs
Deals have.been done already
The transfer window is not open yet so we can’t sign any player. From what I can see we have rapidly moved on from the Moyes strategy of glorious pontification and not getting too ambitious. I’m much more confident we are now going to ‘push on’ rather than hope to ‘punch above our weight’. There appears to be a clear plan, but it is a rebuild as our defence (and that doesn’t just mean defenders was appalling last season). We have a really strong platform and if we get the buying and selling right, we can finish top 4, look at Villa, there is no reason our squad or team cannot as least match theirs.
Been closing in on this player for the last week …what time frame is closing in?? Ffs …and why when we buy any player it drags on for weeks yet other clubs get deals done in days …i know not all but alot…and when we sell players ..again it goes through so quickly and 95% of tye time at a massive loss ….why are we so shit at transfer business……fuck the grass isn’t always greener..but i would love a different ownership..and kritensky well what is the point of him ..all he cares it.what he makes on us ….same as sullivan I spoke….hence why I’d love new ownership…it can’t get worse …look.at the stadium deal …sorry but there both just milking it …
