Hammers remain hopeful on Randolph return

|

West Ham are still hoping Darren Randolph will get through a second check on his thigh injury after failing to pass the initial medical yesterday (Tues).

Having missed 12 games for Middlesborough, the issue apparently remains and is similar to the injury sustained by both Lukasz Fabianski and David Martin.

A second medical is due for today and according to Hammers insiders hopes of the Ireland international being able to make his return remain relatively high.

The stopper parted ways with the Hammers back in ‘17 after 42 appearances with the club within two seasons.

The fee agreed for Randolph was £4million, which will see Boro make a loss of around £1 million should the deal go through.

The 32 year old is keen to make his return to the club seeing this as a chance to earn a decent contract towards the latter end of his carer whilst also being keen to make a PL return should the opportunity present itself.

Why would we even think of paying 4 million for a goalkeeper who failed his first medical and has the same type of injury which kept Lukaz out? Do we never learn? Move on and sign another keeper then we can get rid of Roberto.
