According to the Guardian, Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still a transfer target for West Ham in the current transfer window.
West Ham is currently facing a shortage of right-back options following Ben Johnson’s departure from the club. Earlier today, the Hammers were linked with Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters and are actively seeking at least one new full-back.
At present, Vladimir Coufal is the only fit player for the right-back position, and ideally, he would serve as a backup rather than a first-choice option at the London Stadium next season.
Wan-Bissaka, 26, has one year remaining on his contract with Manchester United, and the club has received several inquiries about him. Manchester United is open to selling the defender if they can find a suitable replacement, and multiple clubs have shown interest.
Turkish club Galatasaray is among those interested in Wan-Bissaka, and he has suitors within the Premier League as well.
Reports suggest that new West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is considering Wan-Bissaka as a potential acquisition. The Hammers’ boss is looking to strengthen the full-back positions, and the club is evaluating several candidates.
Wan-Bissaka is a player West Ham admires, and they are contemplating making a move for him this summer.
I forgot the R didn’t I 🤦♂️
I believe we actually pronounced it PLARSTO. , Certainly in my day at Plarsto grammar
school in the 50’s.
Why does everyone call “Plaistow” – “Plasto”
We. actually pronounced it PLARSTO, Certainly in my day. at PLARSTO GRAMMAR SCHOOL in
the 50’s.
I’lll huff and I’ll puff and blow your house down
Think you meant “scouring” not “scoring”
West Ham fans embroiled in “grammar war” 😂😂😂
Anyone else amazed at all the new “journalist” names that pop up on Claret & Hugh???
Definitely believe AI is just scoring the internet for any West Ham related transfer rumour and then assigning a new name associated to each “Fairy Tale”
Would love Wan Bissaka. Can’t see it though somehow. A swap for Walker Peters seems more likely
A football club is actually a body corporate, so is a singular entity. Thus a club ‘is’ interested, not ‘are’ interested.
We can – and often do – talk about a club as a plural collective, but in pure grammar terms, it’s singular.
We would always say ‘McDonalds is a crap place to work’, rather than the plurality of ‘McDonalds are a crap place to work’.
If you are a Hammer
Use the correct Grammar!
Otherwise fxxx off!
Ps Why does everybody pronounce McDonalds MacDonalds?
Hands up, who phoned the grammar police?
Small point on grammar. Football teams in the UK are a plurality, so its never West Ham “is”, its always West Ham “are”, etc. Hope that helps.
