West Ham are no longer the highest placed Premier League in London with Chelsea leapfrogging us take away our fifth spot.
The Hammers are now in sixth place after dropping two points against Fulham at the weekend.
West Ham are on 39 points, just one point away from safety with fifteen games yet to play. Chelsea are also on 39 points but their goal difference of +14 betters the Irons +6
Liverpool remain in fourth place on 40 points just one point away from the two London clubs. Spurs drop down to eighth with 36 points, Arsenal tenth on 31 points with Crystal Palace 13th on 29 points and Fulham 18th on 15 points after earning a point against West Ham.
Manchester City remain the leaders on 50 points with Manchester United second on 45 points.
Leicester City occupy third place on 43 points just four points ahead of the Hammers.
West Ham’s next Premier League game is next Monday against bottom placed Sheffield United with three points up for grabs.
When the others win their games in hand, we currently sit in ninth. Albeit comfortably in ninth and clear of Arsenal. If we can manage to play the energetic, all action, early passing game we have have seen many glimpses of so far this season, we should be able to consolidate on a top ten place (that’s 9th or 10th). That’s playing to our strengths. Always a great idea and strategy.
If we start to think that we can successfully start playing in a pre-planned considered way, we will probably shoot up the possession percentage charts but we are unlikely to get any more points. So 17th this season. Crisis in the summer. All change before next season and nothing to look forward to.

I think we have a good chance of finishing in the top six ,
The biggest concern I have is not playing out from the back.
Against Fulham virtually all clearances up field by Fabianski gave possession to Fulham and put our solid defence under pressure.
Spot on TG, it’ll be more of the same tomorrow too, any team that presses higher up the pitch forces us to play long very quickly.
Come the summer we could definitely do with signing left footed midfielder who can play as an 8 and a 6 and be a ball carrier too, the lad from Brentford (Dasiva) looks decent.
It will be nice to hit 40 points but I can’t see the present bottom 3 getting anywhere near that total.
