Hammers respond to Arsenal Oxford ‘interest’

|

OxfordWest Ham are furious at morning reports linking Arsenal with a possible move for Reece Oxford.

Reports in the national press claim that Arsene Wenger is preparing an £8 million summer move for the central defender in the summer.

And they add that he and his scouts have been keenly impressed by the 16 year old who was outstanding in the first hammers game of the season at the Emirates.

Arsenal were one of several club which included Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea who tried to poach Oxford before he signed a professional contract with the Irons.

Arsenal have remained unimpressed with that and if the reports are to be believed will be back in the summer for a player they have always rated highly.

A very senior Hammers source though made it clear that the club hadn’t fought “long and hard” to sign him to a deal to accept an offer for one of the best Academy products to pass through their hands in many years.

He told us exclusively: “We’ve read the stories. There has been no approach and all of this is probably aimed at unsettling the player. The reality is that £8 million comes nowhere near our valuation of the player.”

“It’s annoying and we have other issues to address right now like injuries to key players and a match at Old Trafford.”

There is no price that is worth considering as we could not replace him,if Jenkinson is worth more than £10 million Oxford must be worth more than £50 million,
Never mind we could give him a raise to £150,000 per week and loan him to them for £10 million a season and tell him to make lots of silly mistakes and we might get paid back for
    the bargain they gave us,
    NOT FOR SELL
Play him now in the first team Talent Is Talent never mind the age how old was Rooney
