Hammers say “no” to striker offer

Valencia_3191610West Ham have rejected the chance to send striker Enner Valencia on a season long loan to Lazio.

Stories rose in the media earlier today that the Italian outfit had made an offer to take the Hammers striker on a permanent deal at around £8 million.

But ClaretandHugh has learned that this was not the case and that the Serie A outfit instead wanted to organise what our source close to the player claimed was “a cheap loan deal.”

The Hammers have not made a secret of the fact that Valencia is a player for who they will entertain offers but there is no chance of this approach proving in anyway acceptable,.

Our source said: “There’s no chance of a loan being organised. The club are only interested in a permanent deal and in any event only a minimal loan fee was offered which simply added insult to injury.

“They have given Lazio an absolute “no” on the approach and the Italians will need to come back with something far more attractive for a deal to happen.”
