The Hammers are claimed to be scouting Birmingham City goalkeeper Darren Randolph with a view to a permanent signing in the summer.
The 27-year-old keeper has had spells with Charlton Athletic, Motherwell and now Birmingham City, and has two caps for the Republic of Ireland national team.
With Jussi Jaaskelainen turning 40 and out of contract in May West Ham will need a backup keeper to challenge Adrian next season.
Randolph is also out of contract at the end of the season at Birmingham so would be available on a free transfer.
What’s his form like this season even if he is free I personally have never heard of him
There are going to be loads of keepers looking for a club we need a good back up if Adrien gets injured we can’t be in the same position we are in now at centre forward or when we ran out of central defender, although we had Burke and Oxford doing nothing.
Given the respect he continues to show us (despite the pretty serious, but very funny banter thrown his way by our fans) I wouldn’t mind seeing Green return as back-up. Given he is now staring at Championship football and is 35 years old it could be tempting. He may also be able to impart some experience on Adrian and round him out.
What is wrong with Spiegel? Too young perhaps? Hamid from D.C. United is worth looking at…
We need another 34+ till our younger Keeper gets experience even the top teams use seasoned keepers as back up,
For some reason Spiegel is not trusted ?
Green could be a good cover as he will not want to drop down to the championship
